[Jython-dev] branch re-arrangements?

Hi all,

Since more interesting work is happening on 2.3 than on the trunk
right now (sorry... I am starting a new job and preparations are
cutting into my Jython time), perhaps it is time to consider moving
the 2.2 finalization work to a new branch and moving the 2.3 work to
the trunk.  I think following CPython conventions would give
"22-maint" as the name for the 2.2 branch.  My understanding is that
it is difficult to move commit comments between branches, so moving
2.3 to the trunk would preserve the more interesting history on the
trunk.

What do others think?  I won't actally do this until I feel like there
is a consensus supporting the move.
