The following forum message was posted by asac at http://sourceforge.net/projects/jxtaim/forums/forum/250275/topic/3802648: I am not sure about the status of the public supernodes etc. running in the internet. without them it might be tricky to get them going. IN the help menu there is a peer info dialog (which needs to be reopened to refresh) ... do you ever see any connection to a super peer etc. there? |

Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=5729648 By: asac Hi, in an effort I upgraded CVS head to latest jxta release (2.5). just get the CVS and it should work. The configuration stuff needed a more or less big refactoring, but given that 2.5 has much better API for configuration, I hope this was worth it. Note, that saving settings in the preference dialog has currently a glitch that prevents those settings from properly being read on next startup. So edit the src/conf/DefaultConfiguration.xml manually for now to get that setup. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=5258998 By: nobody I found the same problem. It has to due with the length of time the program takes to find other peers, which makes it seem like it is not responding or finding people. If you enable mutlicasting by editing the PlatformConfig withn the .jxtaim folder, removing the text <MultiCastOFF> and saving the program will find peers much quicker. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=5258986 By: nobody Hello, I am greatly impressed by this program, althouh I worry that after 3 years of inactivity that it is dead. This program provides a great alternative to costly interoffice messagin, and sign in boards. I think an automatic time out for status would be a great feature, although implementing such a thing is beyond my capabilities in programing. Also the ability to enable or disable multicast within the program would be great, as with it disabled it does apear that the program doesnt work to an inexperenced user. Thank you for a great program. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
