Oh, duh, never mind. I used the right password, but for the wrong environment. I currently have LDAPBrowser, and I can connect to at least one LDAP server with it. I tried installing JXPlorer and connecting to the same LDAP server. I copied the host, port (389), protocol (v3), and base dn. I set the security level to "User + Password" and entered the same principal/credentials as in LDAPBrowser (I tried entering the password a few times). When I click OK on the connection dialog, it says this: Error opening connection: [LDAP: error code 49 - 80090308: LdapErr: DSID-0C090334, comment: AcceptSecurityContext error, data 775, vece |

I'd love to see this feature too, I keep having to switch back to the old LDAP browser to do imports because it's the only thing I can find that will allow updates when importing. Hi Christoph, the problem is JX is getting confused between two different text names for the same attribute. This is a long running problem that has finally been fixed in the latest version, however it hasn't been released yet because we're messing around trying to find a new installer to replace the current one :-(. If you're keen you can check out the source and build from the latest code, but it will probably be easier for you to simply 'turn off schema checking' in the options. Another alternative is to change your openLdap schema so that it only uses one name for the attribute. - Chris On 24/06/2007, at 3:24 AM, Christoph Ludwig wrote: > [CC to Chris because in the past my postings to jxplorer-users did > not get > through, for whatever reason.] > > Hi, > > I have the following object in my LDAP: > > dn: dc=textgrid,dc=it,dc=fh-worms,dc=de > dc: textgrid > objectClass: domain > objectClass: top > structuralObjectClass: domain > entryUUID: 8d40de1e-b5f4-102b-9b46-b8ae32f8c930 > creatorsName: cn=admin,dc=textgrid,dc=it,dc=fh-worms,dc=de > modifiersName: cn=admin,dc=textgrid,dc=it,dc=fh-worms,dc=de > createTimestamp: 20070623164302Z > modifyTimestamp: 20070623164302Z > entryCSN: 20070623164302Z#000001#00#000000 > > OpenLDAP seems to be happy with this entry, but JXplorer does not > let me > change any of its attributes; it complains "All Mandatory > Attributes must have > values!". > > It seems JXplorer checks for the presence of the attribute > "domainComponent" > (which appears in bold in the table view). Hi JXplorer Users, we've got all sorts of trouble with the current Zerog Install Anywhere Installer - we used to get a free licence, but now they've been taken over by Macrovision it looks like they don't do that any more. The one we've got is getting long in the tooth, doesn't work with java 1.6, and is responsible for about 75% of support emails, so it's time to move. Anyone have any recommendations? The install is actually very simple (basically unzip the files and add 'start' links where appropriate) but we need to cover the major platforms, and it would be nice to look good on windows and OSX as well as Linux. - Chris |

Hi Anthony, at the moment it only does static LDIF files. There's some code in there to do LDIF files with modify operations, but it's not production quality or comprehensive, and was only used for testing. So, at the moment, 'no', unless someone wants to get in there and clean it up! cheers, Chris > I really like the tool but I was wondering is there a way to perform an > LDIF > import that will perform an Update/ADD option like LDAPBrowser? > > Thanks > > > -- > Anthony Manfredi --------------------------------------- Dr Christopher Betts Melbourne, Australia pegacat.com Wer mit Ungeheuern kampft, mag zusehn, dass er nicht dabei zum Ungeheuer wird. - Nietzsche (Who fights Monsters must beware, lest in doing so they become one) |

HI Stefano, if you don't mind diving into the code then yes, you can write a 'plug-in' attribute editor (there are some examples you can work with, and a bit of doco on the jxplorer.org web site). Otherwise no, not really... - Chris On 12/06/2007, at 7:35 PM, Stefano Squitieri wrote: > Hi Chris, i need custom JXplorer creating a particular syntax for > my customed attribute, is it possible? > > In alternative is possible define a multivalued attribute that > contain pairs name-value? > > Bye, Stefano. > |

Hi Alexandre, It seems to be complaining that you have an object class in your schema that has no 'SUP' value. JX expects every object class except 'top' to have a SUP (superior) object class, and gets unhappy if it can't find one. I would have though openldap would get unhappy too? does that help? - Chris On 08/06/2007, at 2:55 AM, Alexandre Anriot wrote: > Hi, just a question. > > While being connected to an openldap server (slapd 2.2.23-8) using > ldaps, I'm getting "Unable to perform Read entry operation" and > "Attribute SUP has no value" (backtrace is below) with jxplorer on > OpenBSD. > > Things are getting better if I check "Ignore Schema Checking". > > Any clues? > > > > Thanks a lot. > > > java.util.NoSuchElementException: Attribute SUP has no value > at > javax.naming.directory.BasicAttribute.get(BasicAttribute.java:281) > at > com.ca.commons.naming.DXAttribute.setAttributeTypeFromSchema > (DXAttribute.java:410) > at > com.ca.commons.naming.DXAttribute.setAttributeType(DXAttribute.java: > 213) > at com.ca.commons.naming.DXAttribute.init(DXAttribute.java:179) > at > com.ca.commons.naming.DXAttribute.<init>(DXAttribute.java:103) > at > com.ca.commons.naming.DXAttributes.<init>(DXAttributes.java:132) > at > com.ca.directory.jxplorer.broker.JNDIBroker.unthreadedReadEntry > (JNDIBroker.java:912) > at > com.ca.directory.jxplorer.broker.Broker.doEntryQuery(Broker.java:400) > at > com.ca.directory.jxplorer.broker.Broker.processRequest(Broker.java: > 200) > at > com.ca.directory.jxplorer.broker.JNDIBroker.processRequest > (JNDIBroker.java:362) > at > com.ca.directory.jxplorer.broker.Broker.processQueue(Broker.java:158) > at > com.ca.directory.jxplorer.broker.JNDIBroker.processQueue > (JNDIBroker.java:829) > at com.ca.directory.jxplorer.broker.Broker.run(Broker.java:124) > at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:595) |

Hi all, At this moment, I configured Jxplorer to access the Windows 2000 Server's LDAP (Active Directory) using LDAPs protocol (port 636) and I can browse the LDAP tree. But I cannot insert/modify the object (for example the user's credential). It seems to me that I can access the LDAP only in read mode. How could manage to set Windows Server or in Jxplorer in order to access in write/update mode the LDAP tree?
