#43 Use of accented characters in safe password

Tried to run Java password safe on a Mac OS X and the program would report that there is an error in the safe/password combination. I suspect this is related to the fact that I use accented (french) characters in my password.

Hi Sylvain,

thanks for your report. In a quick test I could create and reopen a safe with accent (simply an é) on linux. Could you check the following

• change the password (on pc?) for something wothout accent and retry to open on mac
• make a new safe on the mac with accent and try to open it on pc / with pc safe

and report back?

It would also be useful if you could provide a test safe with a password that does not work as an attachement.
