I love this image viewer very much,Want it better and better,but it's not update for 18 month.
Hope next verson support the High Efficiency Image File Format,it's very useful in the future image storage.
Here is the techinical information.https://github.com/nokiatech/heif
I agree - I love JPEGView. Please add support for the HEIF format and the .HEIC filetype. Since Apple IOS 11 has replaced JPG with .HEIC it will be a popular feature. Thank you!
HEIF is based on HEVC.
Due to patent issues, HEVC in open source programs is problematic and thus not possible to support until the patent situation is sure to be safe.

Microsoft has added HEIF support to Windows 10 in the meantime, however support needs to be downloaded separately.
To be able to open HEIF in JPEGView, download the HEIF package from Microsoft (download will be offered when you first try opening HEIF in the Windows Photo Viewer), then add the HEIF extension to JPEGView.ini, key FilesProcessedByWIC:
FilesProcessedByWIC=.wdp;.hdp;.jxr;.heic
You may also set JPEGView as default program to open HEIF - do this using the standard Windows mechanism (Open with - Choose other app - etc)
There is one more third-party WIC codec for decoding HEIC pictures that supports Windows 7/8/10 and also works in a JPEGView - "CopyTrans HEIC for Windows" (free for personal use). This codec seems to have appeared even earlier codec by Microsoft for Windows 10 .
