<p>From a security/semantics standpoint, a String is really supposed to be immutable.  So, I just don't see the motivation for supporting the behaviour this test case is looking for.   I suspect that someone simple copied the test case for PrimitiveArratCritical  without thinking about whether or not it was a sensible thing to test.</p>
