I hope I will add an improved managing of editor properties.
There should be an option to say "keep the existing line end
chars", per-mode editor properties(that is I can say: with
bibtex mode I want a different tab-size, for example), and
maybe the ability to change with a button the line-end
mode(which if I understand is your first request).
For a bibtex mode, I can't help.
