Hi, I think the incremental search textbox should tell
if the searched string was found or not (like Firefox
does).
I tried on my copy to put a red background, I think it
really helps. Do you think I should add it to jEdit ?

Yes, IMHO a good idea.
Maybe the INVALID syntax token color/background could be used in this case?

I think it would be helpful for me as well. For some reason
lately I'm struggling to see the "Search String not found!"
messaeg on the status bar. Getting old?
