When I try to install JEdit 4.3 pre 17 using the windows installer it fails
claiming I don't have java
installed. However, both the JDK and the JRE are installed and if I install
JEdit using the Java installer
both the install and JEdit work fine.
I'm running 64 bit Vista and the JDE and JRE are installed in a non-standard
location. However, I
have JAVA_HOME set and the registry appears to be correct too since JEdit
and several other
Java applications I use all run fine. Any idea what the installer is
checking that fails and that isn't
actually used by Java or JEdit? Thanks.
