#4131 JEdit Displaying Unicode characters ans Empty/Blank Boxes

Jedit is not displaying the unicode characters I paste in to files (say ".css" as UTF-8). It shows a blank box character. I don't know whether it works in other encodings.

An example of a failing character is: Black Rightwards Arrowhead - ➤

I searched the help but unicode is hardly mentioned. I'm on jedit 5.5.0 on Windows 11, the change history for the newer version doesn't mention unicode.

Works for me. Maybe the font you have for your text area doesn't have that glyph. Also try enabling "Additional fonst with font substitution" in the Global Options -> Text Area pane.

Thanks, The additional fonts settings seems to have fixed this.
