#4113 file does not load when doubled-clicked

Hello,
I recently install Java 11 and Jedit 5.6 on 2 of my macs running OS10.15.
I have a strange behavior on both: when I double-click a .py file (that by default is set to open Jedit), Jedit opens but does not load the file. I checked the Security & Privacy settings: Jedit has access all files and folders.
Any suggestions are welcome,
