Using JEdit 5.5 on Windows 10, if I choose Search | Search In Directory and then choose 'somepath' as my directory in my file system and some string to search for, when I press the Find button I am told:
"No node found for directory somepath. Node 'somenode' will be searched"
Should not the Search In Directory let me search in whatever directory I want in my file system. Yes I am using the excellent Project Viewer plugin but why is the Search In Directory functionality restricting me to only the nodes in my various Project Viewer projects ? I believe I mentioned this bug before in some previous release of JEdit but it seems it still exists and I do not remember what the workaround for it is.
This is working fine for me, but I don't have Windows, so maybe that is part of the problem? Are you saying it does work but it restricted to whatever is currently in your ProjectViewer project?
I have narrowed this down. If in a JEdit sesssion you open a project viewer project and do a search in that project root, you can not afterward in that same JEdit session do a Search | Search in Directory without getting the error I cite above, even if you close your Project Viewer project. If in a JEdit session you never open a project viewer project and do a search in the projecty root, then you can do the Search | Search in Directory without a problem. Closing JEdit and re-opening JEdit is the only workaround I have found for this problem.
Got it! Yes, I see the same problem now.
clicking on one of the other "Search In" radiobuttons and then back into "Directory" is a workaround that is a bit easier than restarting jEdit.
Yes, that does work.
It's a little bug in ProjectViewer, it sets the search file set for the jEdit search and replace and doesn't clear it when it's done.
