Hi, I've just been reading about Jabbin, and I was wondering what the advantages are of using it (or another programme for using VOIP with the Jabber protocol) instead of a programme which uses SIP, such as WengoPhone. I'd generally expect SIP to be a better option as it's primarily designed for speech (as far as I know), and as far as I know the Jabber protocol is primarily for instant messaging. Thanks, Guy |

Hello, is this project still developed? Is the Qt4 porting started? I'd like to give contribution if possible. Is this an italian project? Why don't publish it on kde-apps.org too? I'm the KSniffer developer and I programmed with Qt3 and Qt4. Giovanni |

Hi! I've tried building the SVN trunk version of Jabbin. There's a problem with missing header files: In file included from caps.cpp:30: caps.h:31:23: error: singleton.h: No such file or directory caps.h:130: error: expected initializer before '<' token caps.cpp:41: error: 'SCapsManager' has not been declared It seems that apart from singleton.h other files may be missing too (e.g. pathdir.h is non present and it's included from some other files). -- Best Regards, Aleksander Adamowski http://olo.org.pl |

Dear developers, I'm Andrea Bodrati, new Jabbin project manager. I'm glad to announce that in the next few weeks we will be releasing the 2.0.1 beta version. The main changes introduced in 2.0.1 version are libjingle 0.4 and jingle dtmf support .This version will also include some improvements on Jabbin stability, an improved interface and a dialpad for dtmf management. The changes are in progress in the SVN version, so if anyone would be interested in beta testing please checkout the latest SVN version and give it a try. |

Hi Manuel, Thanks for your answer. I tried the svn version, and I noticed too that it is much more stable. Hello guys, Is there any support for switching audio device right now? If not, can someone point me where's the code that opens the audio device, so I see if I can do something with it. I have a bluetooth headset and want to be able to use it, without turning off my hole sound system Thanks Manuel |

Nicolas, Sorry to create a new thread and not replying yours, but I can't find a way to request mailman to send me the archives. I had compiled both beta and svn version in my modified MDV 2007.1, I say modified because I have lot of devel packages here, it's like a cooker but not so unstable. I must say that the svn version is much more stable than the beta. With the beta when ever I wanted to call someone over gtalk it crashed, while the svn version doesn't. Thanks, Manuel > Hello ! > > I made a package for Jabbin on Mandriva : > http://svn.mandriva.com/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/packages/cooker/jabbin/ > > However, I noticed a few crash with the 2.0beta2a version. Hello ! I made a package for Jabbin on Mandriva : http://svn.mandriva.com/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/packages/cooker/jabbin/ However, I noticed a few crash with the 2.0beta2a version. I didn't have time to try the svn version yet. Is it more stable than the beta2a ? Mandriva 2008 will be released soon, so we have to decide which version to include, do you think it's worth trying the SVN version ? regards, Nicolas |

Hi, configure inside http://downloads.sourceforge.net/jabbin/jabbin-2.0beta2a.tar.bz2?modtime=1156537602&big_mirror=0 does not seem to have execution permissions. Is this a known problem? best regards, Timo Lindfors |

Hi everyone !<br /><br />Today I've tried Jabbin for the first time and I have been quite impressed ! Good work guys...<br /><br />I have noticed that we can't have an audio chat with more than 2 ppl. That's a shame :) (or maybe I missed it...)<br />I was wondering if you were planning to add this functionnality in the near future. Can you tell me?<br /><br />Anyway I'll try to implement it... It shouldn't be hard as I already developped a "ringbuffer" class in C++ with audio mixinig and normalizing capabilities for another GPL project... You'll find it here : http://openspeak.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/openspeak/trunk/client/src/audio/AudioMixer.cpp?view=markup<br /><br />I'm sure it would be easy for you to implement it... If you're not interested I'll try to do it myself as my company is very interested using Jabbing if (and only if) it supports conference calls.<br /><br />Regards,<br /><br />François. |
