I'm pretty sure they only share the simulator engine - all the front-end stuff is completely different. The isim Verilog compiler is fantastically buggy (or it was, for several years, until I gave up with it a couple of years ago). I had a long list of bugs, but no-one from tech support ever bothered to contact me, or to do anything about them. I did find one very obscure run-time bug which was identical in both simulators, and the (other) tech support confirmed that the engines were the same. |
