What is the problem when when you receive an email on iTop, the following appears in the box:

<![if !supportLists]>1)
<![if !supportLists]>2)

I've actually seen the same thing as you wrote; and something similar recently:

<![if !vml]>


<![endif]>

It must have something to do with the mail retrieval and parsing.
Some sites suggests it comes from pasting from Microsoft Word.
