I'm very interrested in modifying the core part of iTop (I'm not joking !) : I created a lot of 'redundancy compliant' devices, and this works well. Unfortunately, in the 'depend on' view, if you uncheck some of those devices, the 'redundancy bubble' is still on display.
I added a sample pdf export, as you can see the effect. I do think that the code modifications should not be gigantic, and, of course if I'm able to do that modification, I will send that modification here for proposal.
But I'm unable to find wich part of the code is actually doing the filter part. So I'm also unable to (try to) tune it :)
By the way, I'd love to add a selection field for the deep of the diagram (kind of 'dynamic' relation_max_depth'), but it seems that there are much more parts to change.
OK, I know, it's a VERY BAD IDEA trying to change the core of iTop. But it's also a annoying trouble for us (that makes the 'depends on' view practically unusable from a high level view).
Sorry but I'm way over my head in the dev. of the upcoming 3.0 these days, so I don't spend too much time in the forum. I won't be able to look into this soon 😕
Take care,
Guillaume

Thanks for any hints.

Hi Guillaume,
OK, I fully understand that :)
Happy iTop3.0-ing !
