Still in my journey to make iTop even more adequate for my needs, I started this WE to build an extension for FCOE. It's not working now, but I'm sure I can build that, thanks to the incredible power of iTop.
Still, I'm a little confused by the choices made before :
For an Ethernet world, there are two tabs and three table : the interface and the connection tabs, and the interface, the network componant and the link between tables.
For SAN and FC, there ie exactly the same thing
Following this logic, I'm creating a third set for FCOE switches and CNA cards (you can say FCOE card, also).
I have the feeling that the whole could be in only one set, with a suplemental field specifing the type of connection. In that case, adding a new type of connection would just be in iTop some metadata to add.
Obviously, you didn't do this choice, and I suppose it wasn't a mistake, but could someone explains the reason of this choice ?
Thanks,
Pascal

Sorry but I won't be of much help on this one, network environment is not my strong suit so I'm not sure to understand what you are trying to do. That being said, xtoph38 or vdumas might be able to help :)

Hi Schirrms,

Hi Guillaume,
No problems, you help us all a lot so many times :)
I'll think about that a little more, and I'll see if I can come back with a more cleaner vision.
Thanks,
Pascal
