    Dear All,
I'm having some troubles in migrating to 3.0.0 Beta in my lab environment.

I copied the files from the new "web" directory to the old one, overwritting the files.
The setup stucks at 20%, showing the error attached.
    Do you have any suggestion?
    Thanks!

    Hello Francesco,

This might be due to a module being renamed in the 3.0. Try to follow the official upgrade procedure there, you won't have the error anymore. Let us know! :)

    Take care,
    Guillaume

    Hi Guillaume,
    thanks for your reply :D

I followed the update guide but the issue is still there :(
I noticed that the module "itop-knownerror-mgmt" has been replaced by "itop-knownerror-light" but the installer tries to load also the legacy one.
I also tried to copy the old folder inside the new datamodel, but the error remains the same

    Hello,
Can you confirm the update method you're following ?
Did you delete previous instance files before copying the new ones ?
See the official update procedure here : How to upgrade

    Hello Francesco,

You have to completely delete some folders before copying the new ones as said in the link I put previously. can you retry it?

    Guillaume

Hi Guillaume, I followed the update procedure, but that didn't solve the issue. I solved by unchecking the flag on "Known Error Management" in the wizard section "Additional ITIL tickets".
So, a little workaround but I didn't understand the real issue.
    However, new UI is great!

    Hello Francesco,

Thanks for the feedback, I'll take it up to the QA team so they can try to reproduce it.
Enjoy the better and feel free to give your feedbacks on it ✌

    Take care,
    Guillaume

    Hello Francesco,

I'm not able to reproduce the issue.
The error is showing that you've both modules itop-knownerror-mgmt and itop-knownerror-light. This should not happen.
If you delete the itop-knownerror-mgmt module from itop/datamodels/2.x are you able to run the setup with the "Additional ITIL tickets" flag checked?
This issue will not happen in the 3.0 RC as this module has taken back its historical name.

Thanks a lot for your contribution.

    Hi,
I also have an error when try to upgrade from 2.7.4 to 3.0. The error is:

    2021-06-25 12:20:32 | Error | Error loading module "itop-tickets": /itop_design/classes/class[Document] at line 732: could not be found - Loaded modules: dictionaries,core,application,authent-cas,authent-external,authent-ldap,authent-local,combodo-autoclose-ticket,combodo-db-tools,itop-attachments,itop-backup,itop-config,itop-files-information,itop-portal-base,itop-portal,itop-profiles-itil,itop-sla-computation,itop-tickets | SetupLog

After this screen I ran setup and all other steps passed w/o errors an I enter the app, now with the new version. I run through the menus and do some clicks - everything looks fine.
I checked the setup.log file - the only error is the above one.
What can I do to be sure that everything is OK?

    Cheers,
    Nikola

      Hello,

Next time please open dedicated thread for each problem ("new topic" button on the top left)

I'm not sure I understand, when did you get this screen ?
How did you upgrade ? As a reference is here the official procedure : iTop upgrade

    Hi, Pierre
First, I'm sorry for write to this post.
I got this screen when try to update application via "System/Application Upgrade". Download "iTop-3.0.0-beta-7312.zip", the verify the archive file and the start the process. Then I get this screen.

    Hello Nikola,
Core update process is planned for minor version upgrade. I doubt that we have ever tested it for major upgrade. When you run the setup just after this error, does it work ?

    Hello Vincent,
Everything after this error (the upgrade procedure) went without other errors.
Then I login into the application, did some clicks - everything looks fine. Like I wrote above I've checked and setup log file and there is only one error (the screenshot above).
If this scenario is only for minor upgrade, how can I upgrade to a major version?

    Hello Nicolas,

The core update module also writes its log to the log/setup.log file. So I guess the error you're seeing in this log file was generated by your first upgrade attempt using core update ?

The upgrade procedure are detailed in our wiki : iTop upgrade
Note that I've just updated this page to include a warning stating automatic upgrade should be done for minor upgrade only.
