First I just want to express my appreciation for iscroll2. I can't live (read compute) without it.
I just installed 0.26 and have noticed that the scrolling is definitely not as smooth as 0.25e. I have a 1ghz 12" ibook with 1.25gig of ram. I've played around with the settings but the seems like 0.26 is very stop-startish (not sure how to explain it) compared to 0.25e where its a very smooth scroll.
Otherwise great.
Jay.

The driver itself is basically unchanged from 0.25e to 0.26, all major changes are in the settings daemon. Therefore, it would appear what you're seeing is very likely to be a settings problem.
Have you tried playing around with the various values in the preference pane?

I can confirm that the new 0.26 version has a weird scrolling (right after upgrading), so maybe you changed some defaults or changed something in the names of the settings, but it is indeed unusable.
I will try experimenting changing the settings to see what happens.
BTW, does 0.26 contain my contributed code?

I just diff'ed the default settings between 0.25e and 0.26, and indeed, the default scroll resolution has increased to 10x what it was in 0.25e. I'll need to look into why exactly I made this particular change (that was sometime last July, so I don't remember off-hand).
Regarding your code: The only recent changes in 0.26 are related to iScroll2Daemon; the driver itself hasn't seen any updates in a while. So, no, it's not in yet.

have you tried using the "load defaults" button and then used the scroll? Before you do that, take a screenshot of your current configuration, if it's working fine for you.
I have seen that decreasing the speed of scrolling (which has a default of 100% FAST) to the line right next to 100% SLOW brings a usable vertical linear scrolling. I will keep doing tests after lunch, maybe I'll do a diff between the two source releases.

Yes, after some more fiddling around it's at least useable now. I still have to scroll much more carefully, or whatever I'm looking at just flies by...

I've uploaded 0.25e to the "file releases" section.

Can I just ditto the opinions of the OP.
Also, I DL'd o.25 and it didn't work at all. I followed the proper uninstall procedure for .26.
I'll try 0.26 again with the settings mentioned earlier, but it would be great if there were access to 0.25e until this prob is fixed...

Same here. Used 0.25e since it's release without issues. 0.26 is definitely not working right. I've spent an hour messing with the suggested settings here as well as on my own and it's not even close to usable.
Just as soon as I can find a backup copy of 0.25e, I'm rolling back. In the meantime, I've removed it.

26 was also funny on my pb 17 1.5ghz. Different speed in diff. applications. From superfast to superslow. After reloading the default settings via de iscroll pref pane everything is fine now. pps behave same (eg. safari, firefox, bbedit) which where scrolling at different speeds before.

Just wanted to add to the list of folks that used 0.26 and returned to 0.25e. I used 0.26 for a few weeks and took my time changing settings and trying out different combinations. I removed it and re-installed 0.25e (thanks for posting previous versions) and as others have stated all is back to normal which is very good. Not sure what the updated version changed, but I prefer the 0.25e's smoothness and accuracy.

I just got a hand-me-down PB 12" and was thrilled to learn of the existence of this driver. Thank you for writing it! (And thank you, Apple Store Guy, for pointing me to it!)
I never had 0.25e so I can't compare and yes, the settings upon installation were WAY to fast. But after bringing them down all is well. At least I think all is well.
What's the skinny on 0.25e vs. 0.26? Yeah razzfazz kindly uploaded 0.25e, but he didn't *withdraw* 0.26, nor issue a fix, nor even say "yes, it's a bug" or not. Is there a verdict?
Thanks Again,
Bark!

Yes, for me the same. Same configuration.
The driver itself is basically unchanged from 0.25e to 0.26, all major changes are in the settings daemon. Therefore, it would appear what you're seeing is very likely to be a settings problem.

Ooops, should've logged in first.
Indeed, I reduced the resolution and it works fine.
My current settings, for whoever may use them, are the following:
SENSITIVITY: third step from right.
SPEED: fifth step from left
RESOLUTION: second step from left
MAXIMUM EVENT RATE: maximum right
And now I'm gonna put back my own version with my contributed code ;-)... until I do a diff/patch to the current code.
Daniel,
have you tried using the "load defaults" button and then used the scroll? Before you do that, take a screenshot of your current configuration, if it's working fine for you.

I have also found it to be VERY fast and a bit jumpy as well, going back to 0.25e which has served me extremely well for a long time now.
the same has happened for me
i returned to 0.25 and everything is back to normal
I played around with the settings, but .26 remains unusable for me. Anywhere I can download .25e again?
Have you tried mmy suggested settings? What behaviour do you get?
The only thing which Daniel changed was related to settings, so it's just a matter of changing them around. :-)
Yes, after some more fiddling around it's at least useable now. I still have to scroll much more carefully, or whatever I'm looking at just flies by...
I've uploaded 0.25e to the "file releases" section.

I just uploaded 0.25e to the "file releases" section.
After SLEEP/WAKE my PBG4(12in 1GHz), everything is the same as 0.25e. Before SLEEP, = just after boot, 0.26 behaves funny.
OSX 10.4.6
I have exactly the same. after sleep/wakeup everything is as it should be
Same here. Whenever I reboot, I immediately put my powerbook 12" to sleep just so I can get iscroll working correctly
On 0.28, this problem seems to be solved . OSX 10.4.10 on PBG4(12in 1GHz).

Me too 0.26 is not working how it should
Thaks anyway for developing this versions freeware
