Thanks Olan and LN,
I am still trying to understand this issue and am most recently
questioning if nMap isn't finding the web server built into the cable modem
at 192.168.100.1:80, which should only be accessible from the internal
network. Motorola Surfboard modems all seem to have the capability to read
the modem status via this IP.
ShieldsUp! (www.grc.com) shows port 80 as stealthed, but nMap is
"seeing" something there, so I continue to investigate. Thanks, again.
