My recommendation would be to put IPCop routers at each location and use VPNs to connect them. The situation described in your PDF does not look secure as you are apparently on a common Ethernet backbone with the other clients of the MetroE. If the MetroE is providing you with a VLAN, then you are on, or can be on, a flat network and your issues go away. In a VLAN environment, each site would act as if it were on the same flat network backbone. The layer 2 switching of the VLAN isolates the traffic to the VLAN members. Of course, you have to trust the MetroE provider to actually do that. With the VPN solution, you've got the control. Good luck, Frank -----Original Message----- From: ipc...@li... Subject: Re: [IPCop-user] Multiple Green networks Sure, below is a link to a pretty slim version, but should be enough for this scenario. www.briandean.net/file/ipcoptp.pdf Cloud0 is actually the local CO where the Metro E is connected. No VPN between the sites. Thanks, Brian -----Original Message----- From: ipc...@li... [mailto:ipc...@li...] On Behalf Of Administrator Sent: Monday, March 31, 2008 11:41 AM To: ipc...@li... Thanks in advanced. I Brian, I think a connection diagram may help people's understanding. How are the remote sites connected to the main site at present? Leased lines? VPN through internet?
