IP Cop setup Network (green) IPCOP Box (Red) ADSL router -IPCop version 1.4.13 -Add-on server 2.3 b2 -TrafficControlAndReport-1.1 Mod The IPCop server has two network cards the card configured as green is connected to the main network and the card configured as red to the ADSL Ethernet router. The network users use the IPCop server as their gateway. The gateway for the IPCop server uses the router as its gateway. The problem In South Africa, our ADSL works on a Cap system. That means you buy a certain amount of bandwidth from your ISP and when it is used up you get disconnected until you buy some more. Yes, I know this sucks. The problem is that we have been using way too much of our cap without being able to explain where it goes and that is why I added the IPCop server. Since I installed IPCop our daily upload totals has increased ten fold. We use to upload about 20 or 30 MB a day now we all of a sudden do about 200 MB a day easily. To try to find the underlying cause of this I installed the TrafficControlAndReport add-on and configured it to block all connection except a select group of IP's to limit unauthorized use. This has halved the Uploads reported by the ISP. The thing that I cannot understand is that according to the TrafficControlAndReport Report I should only be using half the bandwidth the ISP claims that I use. They seem to think that their reporting is correct and IPCop wrong. This is driving me insane, as everything seems to be running fine except for the usage difference. I really like the control IPCop gives us but not at the expense of using 50% more bandwidth then what we use to. Any help would be greatly appreciated Below is a sample log form one day with the ISP Statistics at the bottom: Report from IPcop: ipcop.
