http://www.squid-cache.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=1169 Ok, I have been going through the mailing lists here and on the squid list trying to figure out how to get this to work. There has been a lot said on what to add to the squid.conf file for whichever version you are running. I am on IPCop 1.4.2 and it uses squid2.5 STABLE7 and have tried to add: acl hotmail_domains dstdomain .hotmail.msn.com header_access Accept-Encoding deny hotmail_domains (I know there is a third line that can also be added but it will still give the same error as explained below.) I have read posts where this has fixed the problem for many people even so far as when they comment it out and restart squid the error is repeatable, so I beleive this is the fix for the hotmail/msn issue when running in transparent mode. But after entering those lines into squid.conf and reloading squid I am receiving the error: 2005/02/28 14:45:36| parseConfigFile: line 43 unrecognized: 'header_access Accept-Encoding deny hotmail_domains' I read one post where it was said this error was caused because the squid for IPCop was compiled with the --disable-http-violations flag. Is that the reason I am getting the above error when I restart squid after entering in the 2 lines shown above? If so, is there a way to get this compiled into the squid binary on IPCop? I have also read that transparent proxy is bad but I am using DG to guard our labs against the public and I dont want to have to configure each and every machine to use the proxy. I know I could also use Mozilla or any other browser but I can't change which browser is being used here in the organization. Is there a way to still use DG and not use a transparent proxy where I would not have to go to each machine and configure them to use the proxy IP and port? I have also tried to disable the HTTP 1.1 connection with and without proxy if you are using and one without the other in Tools>InternetOptions>Advanced in IE, without success. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Jon |
