Hello, When building IP-Cop boxes we have to apply a whole load of patches which is time consuming. Some patches require a Reboot and others do not. Is it acceptable to apply ALL patches and then do a reboot, or do you have to reboot after each patch which requires it? Also you have to get online before you can update the patch list. This means you have to find some way of connecting IP-Cop when your line is occupied with your own IP-Cop. The same problem exists if you are building an ISDN IP-Cop when you don't have ISDN. One way is to fit a red NIC and connect that to your existing IP-Cop green in order to get the patch list. Then when the updates are installed, switch to your chosesn RED interface. Is there a way the patch list could be read from floppy disk? Better still would be an ISO with all the current patches. Thanks, Wayland. |
