Hi all, Gilles Espinasse writes: > [...] > But after is the real problem > > install: cannot create regular file > > > `/var/tmp/ipcop.build.6530/build/lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/usb/adius > badsl.o': > > No such file or directory > [...] I already encountered this problem (even if it was on a Debian, not RedHat). Here is the reason: the compilation of the modules was not succesful but the error has been silently ignored by the build process. The modules have not been installed as they should. If you look what happened earlier in the build log, you may see that. For me, it failed because it missed a specific library required by the modules target, namely libdb (in fact the headers of this library). It is necessary to build the scsi drivers (see linux/drivers/scsi/aic7xxx/aicasm/Makefile). So check your build log, search for a failure in the modules or modules_install process. If scsci modules are concerned, check that the devel package of libdb is installed on your host. I am confident on the reason why it fails (no usb modules installed, so no usb directory), but I am not sure the cause is the same for you (the library missing). Let us know. By the way, it could be interesting to check the return code of make bzImage/modules/modules_install in make.sh. Hope this helps. Patrick |
