#832 It won't load (Privoxy from the Vidalia package w/o Tor)

I have the latest version of Privoxy, Windows XP
Professional SP 1, Firefox 2.0, I tried uninstalling
zone alarm, I am using tor cause I downloaded some
bundle with tor vidalia and privoxy but i only want
privoxy, .

When I start (default configuration ive never used it
before)it just says

And i thought oh well, so I tried using it in firefox
and it gave me a 503.

The Privoxy version in the Vidalia package is
preconfigured to be used with Tor. If you don't
run Tor, the forwarding will not work.

You could check the Privoxy configuration and
remove the forward-socks4a line, but as the Vidalia
package still ships with Privoxy 3.0.3 which is outdated,
I suggest you remove the whole package and download
Privoxy 3.0.5 beta instead. It should work without
configuration changes.

If you aren't interested in Tor and Vidalia it makes
little sense to use the Vidalia package anyway.
