I'm running RH 8.0 and privoxy-3.0.0-2, downloaded from
Red Hat.

I am running Privoxy in Advanced mode on Phoenix 0.5.
It is still letting the cookies through on a bunch of
sites, one being www.cnn.com. When I do a "Look up
the actions for a URL:" for cnn.com, it lists the
results (below) as cookies being blocked.

Final results:

+add-header {X-User-Tracking: sucks}
-block
+crunch-incoming-cookies
+crunch-outgoing-cookies

Not sure what else to do.

Two things ... you might have to manually delete any
currently stored cookies to completely get rid of them. Then
you should turn on content cookies:

    { +filter{content-cookies} }
    .cnn.com

Yes, I always go in and delete "all" cookie before testing.

I tried adding +filter{content-cookies} as suggested, and it
still didn't do any good. I first added it to my user
    action file for /

Then, after that didn't do any good, I went in, added it in
the Advanced section of standard.action file and then
updated my default action file so that it is now listed
there. When I do an actions lookup for cnn, it now lists
    +filter{content-cookies}.

Still the cookie get through when I refresh the page.

    Below is the cookie information
    --------------------------------------------
    Name: EditionPopUp
    Information: seen(sh:0&id:0)
    Domain: .cnn.com
    Path: /
    Secure Server: no

I'm confused, because a couple of weeks ago a bunch of
cookies were getting through. I deleted them and went back
to delete the new one's, but the list is empty. As far as I
know, nothing has changed from when they were slipping
through. I don't understand. Same version of Prvioxy and
    same version of Phoenix.

I checked a couple weeks back, and some cookies were still
slipping through, so I deleted them. I went back to delete
the new cookies and the list was empty. I don't know what I
changed. I can't think of anything that is different from
when I submitted (and made the changes suggeted). Same
version of Privoxy and Phoenix. Don't know. ???

Well, we'll close this then, and you can re-open if more
problems develop. I really think the cookie handling is
    pretty solid.
