This is Privoxy 3.0.17 on localhost (127.0.0.1), port 8118, enabled

No server or forwarder data received

Your request for http://youtube.com/ could not be fulfilled, because the connection to youtube.com (74.125.47.93) has been closed before Privoxy received any data for this request.

---------------------------------------------------------

I'm in china (where youtube and other pages are blocked by the goverment), so, trying to use privoxy to surf free on the net, i get with this erro since the first tryr. I already flush all the cache, cookies, history, and everything of my browser (firefox), and everything should be working... what am I doing wrong?

I'm using Windows XP, with Firefox 3.6, and the last update of Privoxy

Thanks for any tip.

    I think there's a misunderstanding.

Privoxy itself doesn't give you any resistance against censorship. You can combine it with Tor, though, and Tor does:
    http://www.privoxy.org/faq/misc.html#TOR

To use Tor in China you probably need to configure your Tor client to use bridges. The required steps should be documented on the Tor website and aren't Privoxy-specific.

Also note that Tor doesn't require Privoxy to work, so if you aren't actually interested in one of the features Privoxy does offer, you don't need it.
