Hi,

i installed privoxy version 3.0.15 on ubuntu 10.04.
I want my computer act as a proxy for my lan and for external access
(for example when I'm at university).

Privoxy is listening on a lan ip, at port 8118. My router is forwarding
all 8118 connection to my computer. And I'm able to use it from my lan
and from everywhere (thanks to dyndns).

But everyone can do it.

How I can protect it?

Configure Privoxy to listen on localhost only, configure your router to forward port 22, use ssh port forwarding from your laptop to Privoxy and configure your browser to speak to the forwarded port.

If you using OpenSSH, have a look at the -L option.

In the future, please don't cross-post requests to the mailing list an the SF tracker.
