Category: blocking Group: None Status: Pending Priority: 5 Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Privoxy keeps blocking AFTER uninstall Initial Comment: I downloaded Privoxy and it worked great. So I experimented with the trust file.. I began by adding one URL. It didn't turn out as I expected, and Privoxy was still blocking URLs after I had commented out the trust file... So I uninstalled Privoxy and reinstalled it. Same problem. Even when I uninstall Privoxy and DO NOT reinstall it, the particular URL which I put on the trust file is blocked! No other URLs are blocked... What to do?!?!?! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Teodora (teo17dora) Date: 2005-08-24 15:52 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1333652 thanks, emptying the cache helped (I tried it manually before but seems like some files stayed then) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2005-08-24 07:57 Message: Logged In: NO Go to www.ccleaner.com, get the program, is free and after you used it, try again privoxy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Hal Burgiss (hal9) Date: 2005-08-24 00:07 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=322640 The most logical answer is that these "block" pages are caught in the browser's cache and are creeping back like ghosts. Not really possible to block, if Privoxy is REALLY uninstalled. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Teodora (teo17dora) Date: 2005-08-23 14:34 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1333652 same error here, after disabling and exiting the program still some (random) banners are checkboards no matter if i refresh.. how to reset everything to pre-privoxy state? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=211118&aid=1266172&group_id=11118 |
