Support Requests item #1092243, was opened at 2004-12-28 08:22 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by nobody You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=211118&aid=1092243&group_id=11118 Category: actions files Group: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Can't get The Cleaner to update Initial Comment: I've been running Privoxy v3.0.3 lately on a Win XP Pro system (SP2) - ICF is the only firewall being utilized. I tried to update The Cleaner Pro v.4.1 Build 4252 (anti-Trojan program, from here: http://www.moosoft.com/ ) and the "MooLive Updater" won't work anymore. The developer emailed after I put in a support ticket, and said that "Privoxy is interfering with MooLive. You need to configure it to allow moolive to access moosoft.com directly." Could you please explain to me HOW to go about doing that, exactly? In little-bitty words that your average four-year-old could understand and follow? I'd appreciate it a LOT. Thank you. And, I am just a fellow Privoxy user, not a developer. So, you may want to take what I say with a grain of salt. Privoxy is a proxy server, not a firewall. If, as the developer states, "Privoxy is interfering with MooLive", then it is because MooLive is attempting to access the proxy server. So, how do you tell "MooLive" to not use a proxy server? I don't have a clue. It might be that "MooLive" is using the IE proxy settings. If so, go into the IE options and remove the proxy settings from the connections tab. That "MooLive" developer should be able to tell you how to make his software not access a proxy server. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=211118&aid=1092243&group_id=11118 |
