Category: configuration Group: None >Status: Closed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Unable to use proxy Initial Comment: Installed privoxy perfectly, configured browsers correctly (except IE 8 isn't properly working with software) and everything runs smoothly but cannot hide IP address? By default I am using 127.0.0.1:8118 and am behind a wireless router. I tried setting up the LAN gateway address but my IP is still being shown. How do I use privoxy as an anonymous surfing proxy server or can this not be done? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: SourceForge Robot (sf-robot) Date: 2010-10-29 13:20 Message: This Tracker item was closed automatically by the system. I think the "enhancing privacy" bit comes from the ability to block web-bugs, ads, trackers & other assorted crap. If you want to hide your IP address I'd suggest taking a look at TOR: http://www.torproject.org/ Regards, Lee ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=211118&aid=3087687&group_id=11118 |
