Bugs item #2895041, was opened at 2009-11-10 05:58 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by sf-robot You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=111118&aid=2895041&group_id=11118 Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: None Group: version 3.0.16 >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Fabian Keil (fabiankeil) Summary: keep-alive-timeout buggy Initial Comment: When "keep-alive-timeout 300" is enabled, some sites, including D-Link router web software, Yahoo Mail and Google Mail, can pause for exactly 20 seconds before resuming normally. Disabling the "keep-alive-timeout" allows for normal operations. Bug experienced on version 3.0.15 beta on a clean and untouched install on Windows XP Service Pack 3. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: SourceForge Robot (sf-robot) Date: 2010-09-29 19:25 Message: This Tracker item was closed automatically by the system. I didn't have time to properly look into this yet and probably won't be until the weekend, however there are two other things you could try in the meantime. To rule out a Firefox bug, please try restarting Privoxy as soon as you notice Firefox hanging. If Firefox continues to display "Transfering data from ..." or something similar, this would indicate that Firefox is (at least partly) to blame. Does adding the Privoxy config line "default-server-timeout 5" somehow affect the problem? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Adam Piggott (proactivesvcs) Date: 2010-03-24 09:39 Message: Interestingly, it's getting more difficult to re-create this bug on the URL. I've attached a more verbose and definitely "complete" log. Firefox was displaying "Transferring data from static.addtoany.com" on this occasion, when the delay happened. Note that the liveperson.net requests continue indefinitely. The pauses end at 09:29:02.106, 09:30:07.280 and 09:31:28.446. Excuse the safebrowsing requests...I'd told Firefox not to use this but it still persisted! If you'd rather a less verbose log let me know. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Fabian Keil (fabiankeil) Date: 2010-03-23 21:44 Message: Interesting. Are you sure the log is complete? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Adam Piggott (proactivesvcs) Date: 2010-03-23 18:08 Message: According to Firefox's config page, pipelining is disabled (which is the default behaviour): network.http.proxy.pipelining;false network.http.pipelining.ssl;false network.http.pipelining.maxrequests;4 network.http.pipelining;false ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Fabian Keil (fabiankeil) Date: 2010-03-23 17:36 Message: Thanks a lot for the log, Adam. It looks like you have HTTP pipelining enabled. Does it make a difference if you disable it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Adam Piggott (proactivesvcs) Date: 2010-03-23 13:50 Message: I've noticed this happening on seemingly random sites as well, but finally found one which it happens almost every time. I can re-produce this using Firefox 3.5.8 or 3.6, Privoxy 3.0.16 with http://uk.insight.com/apps/productpresentation/index.php?product_id=KTEA03OVZ If I disable keep-alive, this site works fine. Using the latest version of Internet Explorer or Opera, keep-alive works fine. I tested with a clean Privoxy and Firefox and XP SP3 install. A logfile that shows the problem would be a start. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=111118&aid=2895041&group_id=11118 |
