Bugs item #925261, was opened at 2004-03-29 07:01 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by dballing You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=111118&aid=925261&group_id=11118 Category: funct: filtering Group: version 3.0 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: shouldn't block IMG tag without SRC= Initial Comment: (Using privoxy-3.0.2-1 RPM on RedHat 7.1) I don't know what Google are playing at, but they have recently started drawing lines by using the following as contents of some table cells: <img width=1 height=1 alt=""> Privoxy removes these, and the effect is that useful grid lines are missing from the Google results pages (particularly, the vertical grid line separating main results from sponsored links). Would be worth allowing all IMG tags which do not specify a SRC= to pass through the filter. I don't think we want Privoxy to be working around every single thing people do that directly breaks the spec. In other words, "if you as a site break the spec, all bets are off as to whether your page is going to work." That's my $0.02 worth, though. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=111118&aid=925261&group_id=11118 |
