Bugs item #774426, was opened at 2003-07-19 19:18 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by nobody You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=111118&aid=774426&group_id=11118 Category: other Group: version 3.0 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: images fail to load (timeout?) Initial Comment: I'm using Privoxy 3.0.2 win32. I am on 56k and when you load a page with a very large amount of images (photo gallery for example) it can take a very long time and with Privoxy running, privoxy often seems to timeout on loading images and you end up with a bunch of X'ed images. It tends to happen more frequently if the same page is reloaded. It happens whether filtering is enabled or not. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2003-08-30 22:57 Message: Logged In: NO This happens to me on broadband in Linux/FreeBSD/Windows XP (yup, tried 'em all). Browser doesn't matter. I do not use privoxy anymore, for this reason. Sorry guys. Too big of a problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Mattes Dolak (xoft) Date: 2003-07-20 14:14 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=523169 Hi, The question is, whether it's Privoxy's fault, or the browser's. I sometimes see the same behavior when vieweing pages from my localhost webserver, which isn't filtered at all. I would suspect MSIE or MSIIS of some nonstandard "ms- features" (read: bugs). I dont have another browser, and i dont plan to have, so i cant confirm which of them is the bad guy. However, if this happens due to Privoxy waiting for a response for too long, we might be able to help it, ive seen a nice solution in some other program - every few seconds it was sending a "X-Timeout-Prevention-nnn: " header to the recipient. _X ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=111118&aid=774426&group_id=11118 |
