Hi all, Announcing the release of iFP-Gnome version 0.6 ! This version now uses Geoff's libifp and James Evans' pyifp python bindings, instead of ifp-line. This should fix some longstanding bugs uploading files with special characters, and helps with stability as well. This new version also has much-improved error handling, better progress monitoring, and handles drag/drop of multiple files, folders, and playlists gracefully. I've probably busted a few things in the process of moving to the new library, so please send me any feedback you have on installation trouble or usability. The road to version 1.0 will include bugfixes related to the library change, transfer of files from the player to your PC, and implementation of the "Tools" menu including Format, Flash Upgrade, etc. NOTE that this now depends on pyifp, James' python bindings for libifp. I didn't see this library available on the web anywhere, so I've taken the liberty of posting that code along with ifp-gnome at ifp-gnome.sourceforge.net . If it already exists somewhere and I just missed it, I'll point to the proper version instead. Thanks to Geoff, James, Joe, and everyone who sent feedback on previous versions! Available at: http://ifp-gnome.sourceforge.net Cheers, - Billy |
