Whenever i select a menu item (start menu) or a toolbar button iget the following message in my xcolsole: IceWM: Warning: file descriptor still open: 6. Please report a bug! i can see a slow grow in icewm occupied memory (abouot 1M for 2 days...) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2002-06-26 01:31 Message: Logged In: NO for now it seems OK thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marko Macek (captnmark) Date: 2002-06-09 22:48 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1814 The latest icewm-1.2 CVS now has a bunch of mem leak fixes. Can you try it out and see if one of them makes a difference? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marko Macek (captnmark) Date: 2002-06-06 08:23 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1814 For the memory leak, can you compile without imlib to see if that makes a difference. You should also try other things like disable session management and such. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marko Macek (captnmark) Date: 2002-06-05 09:31 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1814 the warning should be fixed in latest cvs. for the memory leak, more investigation is needed (run malloc debugger?) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2002-06-04 03:19 Message: Logged In: NO yer, it is /devices/pseudo/kstat@0:kstat ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marko Macek (captnmark) Date: 2002-06-04 00:00 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1814 It seems to be this, somewhere in /devices: crw-rw-rw- 1 root sys 90, 0 Oct 11 2001 kstat@0:kstat Probably kstat_open() doesn't set close-on-exec... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marko Macek (captnmark) Date: 2002-06-03 09:16 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1814 try getting the inode of the file with 'ls -i' then try searching for that inode on all your file systems 'find / -inum INODE' It might give more clue. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2002-06-03 01:36 Message: Logged In: NO hi, i am working on solaris8, on that system i can't really see where the file descriptor point to. All i can see in icewm pid under proc is: c--------- 1 root sys 90, 0 Nov 5 2001 /proc/26942/fd/6 i don't think it's very informative, except the fact that it seem a very old (although the icewm is up only a week). i can see that reporting bug on file descriptors appears in 2 places in the code: wmapp.cc in runRestart function yapp.cc in YApplication::runProgram method since i get this message only when selecting a program from start menu or toolbar button - then it comes from there... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marko Macek (captnmark) Date: 2002-06-02 03:01 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1814 Can you check (in /proc/$pid/fd/ what the file descriptor (6) points to)? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2002-05-30 05:44 Message: Logged In: NO hi, The options were "prefix" and "with-imlib" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marko Macek (captnmark) Date: 2002-05-29 03:36 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1814 What options did you give to 'configure' when compiling? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100031&aid=561846&group_id=31 |
