-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello friends of IceWM, Some serious bugs in IceWM 1.0.9 made it necessary to create this bugfix release. Warning: Since it turned out that IceWM's icon caching might contain some serious bugs, this release still could crash - but since I've fixed some legacy bugs already this might happen less often than with previous versions of IceWM. Ciao, Mathias Changes (from http://sf.net/project/shownotes.php?release_id=56347): - bugfix: show application supplied frame icons even if without icon mask - bugfix (for binary distribution): determinate the langinfo codeset item id on runtime - bugfix: remove icons from icon cache when destroyed - bugfix/compatiblity hack: fallback to linux.xpm when provided by the current theme - bugfix: window menu crashed when tray completely disabled - bugfix: tray crashed when compiled without gradient support - bugfix: #469081 Java cause IceWM to crash on mapping Download locations: http://sf.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=31&release_id=56347 http://icewm.sf.net/preview/ Mirrors (might need some time for synchronization): http://www.loonix.de/mirror/icewm.html http://icewm.maol.ch/download/ http://rpm.digitalprojects.com/ http://sdboyd.dyndns.org/icewm/ icewm-news is a moderated list intended to distribute important IceWM related information. Hello friends of IceWM, Finally I decided to release IceWM 1.0.9 (project name: BloatWM). This release adds tons of new features to IceWM, most visible are support for gradients, icon + text antialiasing, shaped decorations, advanced effects for opaque window manipulation an improved quick-switch window. Beside this eye candy there also are a lot of comfort features like Jan Krupa's icon tray, mouse wheel support for themes, additional key bindings, improved edge switching. Some taskbar applets have been improved: So you can run taskbar applications by a single click now and use the run-once feature with them. It's possible to have multiple mail and network status applets now. The network status monitor got a new tooltip. When you look at the change log you'll also find a lot of bugfixes. Most noticeable are support for swallow applications, a lot of internationalization improvements, support for the $MAIL variable in the mailbox applet and a new start menu pixmap. Last not least new translations are added. Ciao, Mathias Download location: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=31&release_id=56145 Complete changelog: http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?group_id=31&release_id=56145 -- WWW: http://www.informatik.hu-berlin.de/~hasselma/ PGP/GnuPG: 1024-Bit DSA: ID 55E572F3, 1024-Bit RSA: ID EAAF7CF1 _______________________________________________ Icewm-news mailing list Ice...@li... https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/icewm-news |

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello friends of IceWM, Today I've uploaded the third preview version of IceWM 1.0.9 to http://icewm.sourceforge.net/preview/. All show stoppers reported for IceWM 1.0.9-pre2 are fixed. Some messages catalogs (Brazil, Spanish, Romian, German) are updated. When no new serious problems occur during this week this files will become IceWM 1.0.9. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello friends of IceWM, I've chatted with Greg "ElCoronel" Sanders today and it looks like themes.org will go online again within the next few days. Unfortunately it looks like them themes.org staff lost the contact to the current maintainers of icewm.themes.org. So we might need new theme maintainers. What has to be done? Mainly submission guidelines have to be written and the themes queue has to be maintained. Preferably, you have a thorough knowledge of icewm themes and are fairly proficient at creating them. It is also helpful for the staff to be up on the latest development and have contacts within community surrounding each item. This is your chance to help the community and see the newest themes, skins and resources. If you want to help and think you have what it takes, please email kf...@th.... You just saw some 1.0.10 code. But indeed. It's really a bug. When you want to get the 1.0.9-pre2 code from CVS consider to request the ICEWM_1_0_9_PRE2 branch: $ cvs update -r ICEWM_1_0_9_PRE2 > - sometimes menus trvelling are impossible due to the focus > continiously moving up. Maybe a problem with the mouse wheel support? What happens when you disable the code between ymenu.cc:333 and ymenu.cc:351? > else look OK Good. :-) > BTW, Is anything clearer about the following? -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello Friends of IceWM, Today I've uploaded IceWM 1.0.9-pre2 to the preview area at http://icewm.sourceforge.net/preview/. If nobody reports __serious__ problems with this release this files will become the 1.0.9 release of IceWM. Maybe it's possible to update the message catalogs: According to the NLS status report at http://icewm.sourceforge.net/nls.php some appear to be seriously out of date. I'd also like to hear if the RPMS really work on pure RedHat installations: Since the only pure RedHat machines available for me don't have XFree86-4 installed (which is needed for the antialiasing code) I've build the RPMS on my quite messy[?] machine at home. Well. What has changed with 1.0.9? Far too much. I definitely have to return to shorter release cycles. Mainly you'll find antialiasing, gradients, shaped-decorations, new effects for non-opaque window movement, Jan Krupa's icon tray, a new quick switch window, additional keybindings, better mouse wheel support... Guess you should have a look at the change log: http://icewm.sourceforge.net/changes.php for a complete list. I strongly suggest users of 1.0.6 or 1.0.7 to upgrade to this release. Source code and binaries are stored at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=31&release_id=32414. Definitily: It took too long until I decided to release 1.0.7, but here it is. Most important features are an improved icesound module, native support for semitransparent windows, colored cursors, theme fonts, a runonce keyword for menu and toolbar files. It also comes with alot of bugfixes, most noteable should be the proper support for GNOME's DoNotCover hint since it solves all the trouble people had with GNOME's panel. There are too much changes to name them all - I'd suggest you to visit http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?release_id=27504 for a full list of changes. Files are available at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=31&release_id=27507. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello friends of IceWM, Pavel Roskin found a problem in the current RPM files which doesn't allows it to rebuild them on RedHat 7. A corrected version (1.0.6-5) of the RPM files is available: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=31&release_id=18077 An still unresolved problem: You'll need the GNOME libraries installed to _rebuild_ the source RPM file. This happens because included build script tries to build three different incarnations of IceWM in one step but the RedHat package manager is too limited to skip sub packages the current host isn't able to build.
