About a month ago I switched from 32 bit debian sid to 64 bit debian 
stretch. Still running Icewm and Mate...but under Icewm the mailto links 
just open another tab of google-chrome. Under Mate they were perfectly.

The xdg utilities are updated and as other software on this machine.

Where should I start looking ?
