Bugs item #761747, was opened at 2003-06-27 13:03 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by captnmark You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100031&aid=761747&group_id=31 >Category: icewm-1.2 Group: behavior >Status: Closed Resolution: Wont Fix Priority: 2 Submitted By: otmar struwe (struwe) Assigned to: Marko Macek (captnmark) Summary: wrong / changed hot key behavior Initial Comment: Since icewm-1.2.8, all menu entries have their fist letter set as a hot key. This meens that all entries with the same first letter have the same hot key, this also prevents the user use one special key for another application . So it's very often imposible to start one programm by hitting one letter. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marko Macek (captnmark) Date: 2003-08-11 20:44 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1814 the bug you've submitted has been fixed in the new IceWM version. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marko Macek (captnmark) Date: 2003-07-06 14:30 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1814 The current behavior is correct. It used to be that way too, except when it broke. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: otmar struwe (struwe) Date: 2003-06-30 14:05 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=799609 If the behavior stays that way, I think I will write an undersore followed up by a space in front of all entries I don't want to use with an hot key. For my work, I want only one hot key for one application. I use some key driven app's and the normal way for me to start them is: Hit SUPER_L (showes the menu) and the hot key and there it is!!!! This was the way it work's up too 1.2.7. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marko Macek (captnmark) Date: 2003-06-28 08:58 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1814 You can set your keys manually by adding a _ prefix in the menu files. There are no plans to change this right now. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Robert Klein (roklein) Date: 2003-06-27 21:02 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=96873 *sigh* next round.... You can use special keys, but if you want that key to only start that application you'll have to assign the other apps using the same key other keys... You could also type your special key twice or thrice until it is at your application and start it with then ENTER key. But, if you don't auto-assign any hotkeys you are forced to assign them yourself or use the mouse for entries you didn't assign a hotkey. (If this behaviour is to be changed, *please* could it be an option, like "AutoAssignHotkeys" for preferences?) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100031&aid=761747&group_id=31 |
