Actually I had the same problem with RH 7.1 and an earlier version of 
IceWm. I had already reported the problem. I was hoping that it had 
been solved but it looks that not. Too bad.

At the time somebody had told me :

"Not being familiar with the session dialog (lack of use here) I may be
offbase. Does the dialog open a password box when using sudo? If not,
that's likely the culprit. Sudo would work for root in that case, but
not the average user."

I have to try as root to see if it works under root. I'll report later.
