This is probably obvious to the more knowledgable (most?) users, but anyway ... While I liked several IceWM themes, such as the "nice" theme, what I hated was the very ugly LED clock I got with most of them. Well, I have recently discovered that if I install the BluePlastic theme (included for instance, in Mandrake 8.0 distribution's IceWM 1.0.7-4), I can then copy the contents of it's "LedClock" subdirectory (I may have the exact name or capitalisation wrong here, BTW) into IceWM's default "LedClock" directory (IIRC, a subdirectory of '/usr/lib/X11/icewm'). The end result is that the default "LED clock" used by most themes now becomes that used by the BluePlastic theme, and blends in much better with the Toolbar. The colour match is not perfect (eg. to the "nice" toolbar), but pretty good - much better (IMHO) than the "black rectangular hole" effect presented by the standard "LED Clock". :-) Joe. |
