What program instead of Kwrite?

I think Kwrite is a good text editor, it let's you configure the font, has= =20 syntax highlight, etc. Is the program i use to edit .cpp and .html files The "little" problem it has is that it uses KDE libraries and iceWM seems=20 to be only partially compatible with KDE, sometimes kwrite closes itself,=20 and i think this is unacceptable. I've tried some other editors, but haven't found one similar. This is why i ask the list for suggestions about text editors that don't=20 use KDE libraries. They should be similar to kwrite in options, and THE=20 THING I WANT MORE is that it don't cut a line when it is too long and puts= =20 it in the line below, i hate this behaviour.
