Due to pressing the wrong button while changing over from Sylpheed to Balsa I managed to lose all my emails! Please do not add to the comments I have already made to myself! Charles Marcus asked for advice on how I run Rox and Icewm and the delay in replying is due to the above paragraph! Basically I use Icewm as the window manager from login and have a number of Rox panels configured according to the Rox manual. A Master panel that comes up on the left of the screen is called up from the taskbar and this contains links to other panels, mostly on the right of the screen, providing links to programs used in the various workspaces, help files, home directory and so on. A blank panel enables me to turn any of them off. I used Rox-Session for a while as well, but as I rarely log in or out (I just suspend my laptop) it did not seem necessary, so I work directly from icewm. I do not use the Rox pinboard but clearly this could be set up in the same way. If you log in and out regularly then you will probably find Rox-Session worthwhile as it enables you to easily set up what programs, panels, pinboards etc to automatically run on logging in, as well as various other parameters. If you want any more info just shout, but this in conjunction with the Rox manual should hopefully get you on the way, after which you can explore yourself. Rox is very fast, simple and flexible and works well with icewm if you do not need to be led by the hand too much. (Being a Linux user you probably don't) John PS Anyone any answers to my original query? ------------------------------------------------------------- On Sat, 24 Aug 2002 22:11:26 +0100 John Mellor <Jo...@Ku...> wrote: > I use icewm light on Mandrake 8.2 with the ROX desktop - a lovely > combination.
