Hello,
is it possible that only the selected (centered) node and the directly linked nodes/edges are shown? Like ToughGraph (http://www.touchgraph.com/index.html)?

  No, not at the moment. I tried it to some extent, so you still find old code in some classes, but it didn't work satisfactorily, so I finally skipped it. Maybe I'll add this functionality some time in the future, but it's not scheduled.
