[Hplip-help] scan problem on HP LJ 3300 MFP with hplip 1.6.6a and SuSE Linux 10.1

I am experiencing scan problems.
I did try the recommendations on the web site.
DEBUG_DLL... results in:

If I try to scan, I get an error, when pressing the SCAN button with "xsan" 
with the content:

Could not start scan, because the document sheet feeder is empty

German text is: Konnte Scanner nicht starten Dokumenteneinzug ohne Papier.

Is this a known problem or did I do something wrong.

Please help me.
