Dear Sir or Madam, I had been using the HPLIP driver for the HP 2200d printer that came with HPLIP 1.6.10 in my Debian 4.0 linux distribution. That driver only provides for 150dpi, 300dpi, and 600dpi printing, but it does not allow the 1200dpi printing of which the 2200d is capable. After visiting linuxprinting.org, and modifying a recommended postscript based .ppd file available there, I was able to make a .ppd file that allows the 2200d to print in 1200dpi as well as give an option to autoselect the paper tray. I strongly believe this modified postscript type .ppd file should be included as the default driver in HPLIP instead of what is currently offered. I spent may hours of frustration to finally get all of the features of the 2200d to work properly under linux. I am attaching the working .ppd file to this email. Can you please make sure that someone involved in maintaining HPLIP drivers gets it so that they can possibly include it in the next HPLIP release? Thank You, Eitan |
