In gimp? Sorry, where?
When i save the image as ps-file i enter the exact dimensions of A4
(210x297) and then print it with lpr.

The printout of the ps-file then has the same borders as the
cups-testpage, should the cups-testpage come out borderless if the
printer is set to fullbleed?
