Adam - I use to think just like you. I have been using emacs forever
but seems like every developer I have deal with is using some kind of
IDE and most of them use eclipse. It also seems alot of OS vendors
have some eclipse plugins. So I am slowly being force to play their
way. eclipse is a beast and seems sluggish at times but looks like a
nice tool.
