The the-conw.exe v4 always disables QuickEdit Mode when launched

For some reason QuickEdit mode in Windows is no longer persistent when set in properties like it was with v3.3b3. Now it has to be set every time THE is launched. Copy+Paste does not work without this setting enabled.
the-conw.exe does not honor the QuickEdit setting in the registry either. I.e.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Console]
"QuickEdit"=dword:00000001
Also for a shortcut both 32 and 64-bit
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Console\The_x32]
Copy + Paste does work from the context menu and adds additional steps to get it to work which is a PIA instead of being automatic via Quickedit Mode
Apparently, in V4 mouse support is enabled which breaks Quickedit Mode.
It's one or the other. For me mouse support is pretty much useless and only allows me to scroll. How can I disable mouse support to get back Quickedit Mode?
Okay, I found SET Mouse Off which I had to add to my profile. I need to delete or change the status on this ticket. Sorry for the false alarm.
I've made a note in the documentation that the use of the left mouse button to mark text is unavailable if SET MOUSE is ON. All other QuickEdit capabilities still appear to work with MOUSE ON.
